Oh how I love summer! I spend as much time as possible at the pool or the beach, so a well-stocked beach bag is a must. I like to make sure I’m prepared not only to be entertained, but to keep myself hydrated and not starving, so I’m not overly tempted by the snack bar! This Labor Day weekend I intend to soak up as much beach and pool time as possible … I’m not ready for summer to be over!! Here are the essentials I’ll be sure I have in my bag:
*A big, glamorous hat. Sunblock is great, but nothing keeps your skin (and scalp) safe from the sun like a hat!
*Simple Cleansing Wipes for Sensitive Skin. These are SO great to have on hand when you need to freshen up your face a bit, especially before you re-apply sunscreen!
*Reading material! I am never caught without multiple reading selections: Kindle, magazines, and catalogs!
*87 million lipsticks and glosses. Why? I don’t know. I can’t help it. It’s an obsession.
*Healthy snacks. I have a major sweet tooth AND I also love salty, fried things … which makes the pool snack bar a serious temptation! I’m not about full-on deprivation, but if I allowed myself to indulge all summer long on ice cream and French fries, I’d not only look terrible, I’d feel awful. To avoid temptation, I bring a mini cooler with yummy foods like like YOPA nonfat Greek yogurt, and calorie-free drinks like HINT flavored, sparkling water.

*WATER! Staying hydrated is key not to just feeling good and being healthy, but to looking good as well, especially when it comes to your skin. I like to fill my big old water bottle with ice cubes and water, so I have something cold to drink (at least for a little while!). I also hate spending money on bottled water — such a rip, usually!
*Sunblock. I am a total nut about serious SPF on my face and chest.
*Notebook and pens, in case I get a brilliant idea whilst lounging poolside. It could happen!
