The IT Nail Polishes for Fall

5 shades of luscious nail polishes that’ll make your autumn glow!

-Harvey Helms

I love fall. There’s just something about it that makes me reflective and optimistic, especially with all the fabulous events and parties that will be here soon enough. There are also so many options to update your wardrobe! I don’t know about you, but my arms got a great workout from pouring over all our favorite fashion mags. I think Vogue weighed 12 pounds. Love it!

One easy and inexpensive way to transform yourself into the fall goddess that dwells within is to start with your nails. Just like lip color, nail color allows you to participate in the more daring, trendy shades that you might not choose for a blouse or a shoe. And if you try it and don’t love it? It easily disappears with nail color remover. No pressure girls.

The IT nails of the season move from urban decadence to ladylike sophistication. There are a million shades to choose from so here are my picks to help you edit your choices. I just know there are a few shades you will fall in love with.

Gray

sparitual in slate

SpaRitual in Slate ($10, skinstore.com). Love this. If you love chocolate and want fat free, then this is the shade for you. Totally yummy. It’s sort of the new, wearable, not-so-neutral neutral. Goes with everything but looks modern and fresh.

Purple

opi busta mauve

Nicole OPI in Busta Mauve ($7, target.com). This party girl shade has been updated, yet still remains festive. It flatters so many skin tones and coordinates perfectly with fall clothes.

Orange

china glaze desert sun

China Glaze in Desert Sun ($4.59, amazon.com). This sunny shade is neutral with a sun-washed kick. If you choose to rock winter white clothing, this may be your new must-have.

Deep Green

essie green

Essie in Stylenomics ($8, essie.com) Love this updated creamy dreamy version of a color that rocks back to the 1980′s. Deep rich green is a huge trend, so this may be a way for you to switch it up.

Berry

zoya katherine

Zoya in Katherine ($8, zoya.com). If you’re looking for drama without wanting to seem twilightish, this is your new shade. Unlike the vamp of past decades, this berry shade looks fresh, clean and modern.

Have fun nailing it, ladies!
